Hotel Oktogon

Interior designer este’r partners’ project, Hotel Oktogon is the rebirth of a historical palace of the Budapest heritage site. Neo-Renaissance Haggenmacher Palace at Andrássy Avenue was built between 1884 and 1886 and developed by the Swiss-born brewer and mill-owner Henrik Haggenmacher. The elegant palace has been restored and renovated, retaining its original character. The inner courtyard behind the representative gate now features a lobby and a breakfast area instead of horses and carriages, the details of the ceiling in the corridors were given back their original beauty, while the interior design remained sporty and casual. While the flooring and facade elements follow the style of historic buildings, the furnishings and installation elements are adapted to the hotel’s youthful, cosmopolitan atmosphere – they are colorful, clean, comfortable and vibrant. The former iconic palace of Budapest re-opened as a classy and cool hotel in 2022, managed by Continental Group. Ester partne’s reliable partner in architecture was Archikon Architects studio, former winner of BigSEE Awards. Because of its central location of Andrássy Avenue, high prestigue and long history, the rebirth of Haggenmacher Palace is a long-awaited and highly acknowledged design project of Budapest that enriches the touristic charm of the city.
