Accedia Office Space by Cache atelier; Bulgaria

When commissioned the task to design the new office space of the Bulgarian developers company Accedia in Sofia – Bulgaria Cache atelier had only one requirement on their list. To make a working environment that is focused on the team’s work and to develop a concept around the idea that every employee brings their uniqueness to the development of the software company.

Cache created a special template avatar with thousands of options so they recreated every single employee with their distinguishable features and inhabited the space with the new avatars. The concept was developed even further by choosing the favourite movie directors, singers, music bands and writers of the teams and incorporating their unique avatars in the space as well. Thus, Harry Potter, Metallica, the Beatles, Freddie Mercury, Terry Pratchett, Stephen King, Steven Spielberg and Ernest Hemingway peek around the corner of the space.

The average employee of the company is under 30 years of age so the space is created as an open spacious and light mixture of small open spaces, collaboration areas and variety of meeting rooms. Delicate colourful accents with a mere industrial touch finish the idea of the young spirit of Accedia.

The unique feature of the space is its rooftop as a relaxation area/bar with its own barista where employees can grab a cup of coffee, play a mini football game or just enjoy the splendid 360° views of the city and Vitosha Mountain.

What makes this project one-of-a-kind?

All employees can be found on the walls of the office represented by their custom-designed avatars.

About the authors

Cache atelier is an architectural studio based in Sofia – Bulgaria. It was founded in 2011 by Mila Ivanova and Tsvetomir Pavloc. Since 2015, the studio has been involved in developing sustainable and creative working environments. For the past five years Cache atelier developed more than 30 office spaces for Paysafe, Progress, Stars Group, Financial Times, Bwin, Novartis, Publicis, Siteground and others thus managing to create a better working environment for more than 6500 people.
