Wok n Roll Cyprus – Chinese Restaurant, Limassol

This project is about a renovation of an existing Asian restaurant based Limassol, Cyprus, Wok n Roll, which has been operating since 2009.
The client’s request was about the design of an outdoor dining area on the southeastern border of the restaurant, as well as the aesthetic upgrade of the interior. The main challenge of the design was to adapt the new design to the building’s existing infrastructure and to block the noise and the main views of the busy city road bordering the outdoor space.
The idea was to shift the buzz of the city by creating a quiet zone in the outdoor space of the restaurant by designing an intimate space ideal for dining. One of the design strategies was the setting of the vegetation both vertically and horizontally along with the outdoor space, isolating both visually and acoustically the outdoor activity of the city road. At the same time, the element of the greenery and the openings on the south side of the building created a seamless transition between the interior and the exterior.
The interior space has been designed with wood panels, large light surfaces, and selected furniture. The facades of the building have been designed with large openings on the east and south side, allowing the user to have direct visual experience with the outdoors.
