ZAJGÓ by dAM (Debrecen Creative Workshop); Hungary

This was a fourth summer camp of the Debrecen Creative Workshop (“dAM”). It is always very important for us to build a good community of builders. Architect students and architects work together to create and build buildings and learn about structures and materials through experience.

This project was in a very inspiring nature reserve next to the water. This area is located next to the backwater of River Tisza. People do a lot of activities here like fishing, hiking, outing, bicycling, and tenting. Therefore, a 360° use was so important to us, allowing for an object-oriented appearance. This circular and wavy shape was completely made of wood to create functional furniture with focused inner space and new outer perspectives. We called it “Zajgó”, which means wave, whirlpool, murmur.

What makes this project one-of-a-kind?
The aim of the project is to create a characteristic and unique land art building that can connect with the water and the riverbank, like hanging legs, fishing, observation.
