It’s getting hot – even in Vienna. While ceiling fans naturally cool rooms in cities like Athens, air conditioning dominates in Austria, releasing heat outside and contributing to urban warming. Studies show that Vienna is on average one degree warmer in summer due to widespread AC use.
“Not Only Fans” addresses this imbalance with a hybrid solution: a ceiling light that is also a fan. The fan is concealed within a central cylinder, drawing air from above and diffusing it gently through a conical shade. The lower cone doubles as a light source, allowing air and light to flow together seamlessly.
The result is a silent, elegant intervention against heat – not just a technical device, but an integrative living object that redefines the ceiling fan’s role in contemporary interiors, merging design, function, and everyday comfort.
