Pistohiekka Resort

The Pistohiekka Resort is a sauna-restaurant in southeastern Finland. The project aims to revitalise and support the local tourism in the area through highlighting the location’s unique features. The wooden built sauna-restaurant is located in a tranquil and moody cove, with views down to the lake Saimaa. Roof openings work as a cohesive element between the buildings. The large terraces descending seamlessly to the lake are partly covered, so that the visitors are invited to enjoy the outdoor spaces while being shielded from both sun and rain.
