Dušan Kočlík is a furniture and interior designer, educator, curator, publicist, activist and BIG SEE Nominator. He is Head of the Institute of Interior and Exhibition Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. His work and research focus on interior design in Slovakia, including the project INSK and the study of vanishing heritage and its digital renewal. He reflects on the theme as a balance between excess and lack.
Too much means the loss of harmony, just as too little means leaving the search for it unfinished. Just enough represents a state of balance in which design has justified its existence. It is design that does not remain with us only for a brief moment between its creation and its transformation into waste.
