Trencadis

Trencadís is a term from the Catalan language, inspired by an art tour in Barcelona, where the guide introduced me to architectural design. It refers to a mosaic technique that uses broken tile shards to create patterns and designs. I interpreted the experiences of this journey through my own design philosophy. This series primarily explores the innovative application of cross-disciplinary techniques in fabric and material development within fashion design, particularly focusing on the effects of patterns extracted from architectural art and cultural history, processed through design.

The products in the series utilize the combination of stretch and non-stretch yarns to create fragmented textures, digital print block patterns, and cross-processes of dyeing and fading to produce varying tonal positive and negative patterns.
