Italian Design Day 2026
Re-Design.
Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas, Relations.
Italian Design Day (IDD) is an annual themed event launched in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture. It features a wide-ranging program of promotional initiatives held worldwide through the network of Italian Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and Italian Trade Agency offices abroad.
The 10th edition of Italian Design Day offers an opportunity to reflect on design and architecture as key tools for the regeneration of both individual and collective living spaces, as well as of materials and objects.
This year’s theme, Re-Design. Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas, Relations, embraces both urban regeneration and the regeneration of objects and makes the most of the Italian experience, founded on an exceptionally rich heritage of knowledge and expertise.
The Exhibition
Città in Scena. Urban Regeneration:
The Italian Way to a Sustainable Future.
Produced by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and curated by ANCE, Associazione Mecenate 90 ETS and Fondazione Musica per Roma, this project presents significant Italian urban regeneration experiences, originally collected through the Città in Scena Festival, to an international audience.
The exhibition showcases the best practices in urban regeneration developed in Italy and promotes skills and technologies related to the design of urban spaces, construction and housing projects developed by Italian public administrations, companies and designers.
