Kelp Chair

Introducing a vision of what can be achieved with large-scale 3D-printed furniture made from recycled fishing nets and wood fiber. The design is inspired by the oceanic environments of the Swedish west coast archipelago and the unconstrained movement of organic forms. With an organic ebb and ergonomic flow, the chair gives the impression that it was created on the ocean floor.

The chair is the designer’s ultimate love letter to his upbringing and the lost surroundings of his youth. The striking design language, inspired by the sea, gives the 3D-printed ‘Kelp Chair’ a lively, organic, sculptural look that makes it unmistakable. The fact that the plastic used for this chair is made from recycled fishing nets helps to rid the oceans of plastic waste.
