Budapest100

Budapest100 is an annual weekend festival of open houses, launched in 2011 by OSA – Open Society Archives and KÉK – Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre. The festival aims to celebrate the built heritage and the communities of the Hungarian capital. Originally showcasing the 100-year-old houses of Budapest each year, the theme has changed every year since 2016. However, the original approach of the festival remains unchanged and is reflected in the motto: Every house is interesting. Unlike other initiatives, which focus mainly on significant public buildings, Budapest100 is about all buildings, regardless of having outstanding architecture or being listed as a protected monument. Visitors and residents share their stories and experiences through house walks and local history exhibitions, building relationships and mutual understanding.
