Wohnbau Vassach 2 by spado architects

The Vassach 2 residential building, with 10 apartments, is the continuation and completion of the Vassach 1 residential development, which was started in 2021 with 2 buildings of 7 apartments each. The main focus of the overall project was to develop three insular plots in the middle of an existing settlement of detached houses and apartment buildings, in such a way that they fit in well with the local context.

The 3 residential buildings, with a total of 24 apartments, take up the urban grain and are structured by projecting and recessed building elements. The massive, cantilevered balconies and canopies are matched to the façades in terms of color and material. The private open spaces of the apartments are protected from unwanted views, and the building is stretched horizontally. The uniform design of the three buildings in terms of architecture and color scheme creates a calm, overall ensemble. The development of the plots in the middle of the settlement is a scaled, internal densification and sensible use of existing residual areas.
