The Saint Charles Apothecary was founded more than 130 years ago and has its philosophy deeply rooted in the traditional European Medicine. For the first monobrand store for first-class natural cosmetics Saint Charles Cosmothecary in Vienna’s first high-rise building, a new exhibition concept was realised laying the focus on the customers’ visual, kinaesthetic, olfactory and gustatory experience of the products. Natural materials such as wood and raw steel do justice to the honest look of the brand. The unpretentious design of the products with brown apothecary bottles and white labels pervades the entire product range. In order to show the products in their best light, whitewashed wooden pedestals are arranged against the wall displaying different testers, while articles for sale are arrayed on steel shelves at eye level and close at hand. Further moveable pedestals displaying special products are placed in the center of the room and can be moved towards the shop windows, for instance while the shop is closed. The counter was clad in handmade tiles and constitutes the heart of the shop.
