Building on the positive reception of the operators’ existing restaurant, JOLA, Vienna’s first vegan fine-dining establishment, also located in the city center, LARA now bridges the gap between upscale cuisine and a relaxed, urban lifestyle.
Inspired by the renowned sacred architecture of the immediate surroundings, the LARA restaurant creates a place for reflection and contemplation. The architectural concept is guided by the high standards of the cuisine, aiming to establish vegan dishes not merely as an alternative, but as a true moment of culinary delight. The interior design focuses on highlighting the perfection of the culinary creations.
LARA’s spatial concept creates a balanced interplay between communicative, lively areas and quieter, more secluded zones – all seamlessly integrated into the overall design. Near the large glass facades overlooking Passauer Platz, guests can experience the vibrant energy of the city and the dynamic atmosphere of the restaurant. In the back, recessed alcoves offer more privacy and intimacy.
The Chef’s Table enhances the interaction between the restaurant and its guests. It is crafted from 1.400 solid glass bricks. The parametrically designed form ensures optimal seating ergonomics and is inspired by the artful tradition of bricklaying. This fascinating interplay of light, form, and craftsmanship makes the Chef’s Table an architectural highlight, while simultaneously creating an inviting and comfortable seating area.
