PORG primary school (PORG – základní škola)

In the autumn of 2023, studio X was commissioned to create a pleasant leisure environment for the pupils of the Nový PORG Primary School. The renovation included a complete replacement of flooring and lighting, furnishing and accessorizing and our signature play with wall art. For the very youngest, i.e. first and second graders, we chose the theme of forest. The wall art contains motifs of animals and is complemented by seating in the shape of mushrooms and stumps. That is completed with a number of conventional seating, that serve for afternoon courses etc. For the three-story building for the third to fifth graders, we came up with the theme of sea. The bottom floor is the deep sea, the middle floor is the underwater world and the top floor is the coastline. Here the extras contain “rocks” that were tailored specially for this project, marine-coloured pouffes and seagulls on the shore. There are stairs with seats on each floor for lighter forms of learning and to use during breaks.
