Mario Paintner, born 1973 in Klagenfurt – Austria. Studied at the TU Vienna and the TU Delft, Netherlands. Worked in various architecture and urban planning offices. Founded feld72 in 2002 together with Anne Catherine Fleith, Michael Obrist, Richard Scheich and Peter Zoderer.
The work of feld72 has received numerous international awards, including the State Prize AT – for experimental tendencies in architecture 2002, Architecture & Sustainability 2013 & Architecture 2018 / nominations for the Mies van der Rohe Award ES / Architecture Prize South Tyrol IT – in the categories Housing (2011 & 2015), Public Building (2011 & 2019) / AIT-Award DE 2018 / Callwey DE – in the categories Residential Building (2021) & Best Workspaces (2023) / BIG SEE Wood Design Award SVN – GRAND PRIX 2022; as well as the db Award – Respekt und Perspektive.
