The key goal was to create a space that not only functions within its technical parameters, but also represents the client within the community – through design that reflects their business values and future aspirations. Located on the road from the airport to Podgorica, the building emerges within a post-transitional landscape, reminiscent of Ed Ruscha’s American peripheries – yet distinctly Balkan.
This sequence inspired an architecture that stands out subtly, appearing as a kind of question mark within its visual continuum. Constructed in prefabricated concrete – a system whose rigidity often limits architectural expression – the building embraces the imperfections of the system. The west façade, exposed to the strong Podgorica sun, features openings that provide shade, while slanted surfaces diffuse light into the interior, reducing thermal stress and linking energy efficiency with design. Every intervention in the building unfolds as a response to the site’s conditions and the mechanisms of the client’s workflow.
