A Place in Nature for Creation, Encounters, and Retreat Located in the heart of the Čenej agricultural landscape, ATARhouse is a traditional salaš offering an authentic setting for people and ideas seeking silence, presence, and inspiration. The project emerged through the reconstruction of an existing salaš complex, consisting of three buildings: a house, a summer kitchen, and a stable. The most extensive intervention was the transformation of the former stable into a multifunctional space.

During reconstruction, all structurally sound elements suitable for reuse were preserved – namely, the foundations and the exterior brick masonry walls. A new structural system was introduced, designed to work in conjunction with the existing walls. The original form of the building was retained. The architectural language is contemporary, characterized by restrained lines, color palette, and materiality, rooted in archetypal forms, and harmonized with the other buildings on the salaš. The building was upgraded in terms of energy performance. The multifunctional space is adaptable, open, and rich in possibilities. It can host workshops and gatherings, educational programs and team-building activities, and photography and filming.
