Over the past six years, the Badehaus Maiersreuth e.V. association has established itself as an exciting venue for contemporary culture in the northern Upper Palatinate. In addition to the original bathhouse of the former spa, the modernized historic schoolhouse from 1911 is now also in use. It has been converted into a “residence for artists” and, together with the adjacent former Sibyllenbad from the 1980s, forms a spacious complex for art and culture in a rural setting.

The renovation by architect Karlheinz Beer focused on preserving the building’s structure and making sensible, energy-efficiency improvements. Five guest rooms were created, along with a large kitchen-dining area serving as a space for interaction. Since 2023, the new spaces have offered more room for exhibitions, art projects, and residencies for artists, as well as interested guests.
