This work won the award in the “Street Furniture Design Competition” and was actually built. The site was in the small park, surrounded by the skyscrapers of Minato Mirai in Yokohama. To share the experience of looking up the skyscrapers from below, several circles are placed in such a way that they overlap each other, while being displaced. The soft circular curtain cuts the outlines of the skyscrapers and creates shadows in the sunlight.

The gentle separation between this side and that side creates a new sense of distance between people. The circular platforms of different heights can be used for sitting and drinking coffee, lying down and looking up, or as a high counter. Users can find their favorite spot. The curtains reflect the nature of the place, showing a different expression every moment, depending on the wind, the sun, and the weather. This is a proposal for a soft, public space where you can feel nature in the city.
