Our work depends on numerous influencing factors. We work goal and solution oriented. We think laterally. We combine, try out, weigh and sound out. Until it becomes a house, an apartment, a school or a whole city district.

PLOV LIKES IT SIMPLE

We are looking for simplicity. Because simple is not always best, but the best is always simple (Heinrich Tessenow). Our work is honest, functional and self-confident. It is clear and simple in its spatial implementation.

WHERE DOES PLOV ACTUALLY COME FROM

PLOV comes from Tashkent. It is a potpourri of spices and ingredients. It is different every time and always delicious. That's how we see our work.

PLOV Architekten ZT GmbH was founded in 2012 by Marion Gruber and Christoph Leitner.

Founders

Christoph Leitner was born in 1977 in Salzburg [A] and studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology, the Delft University of Technology and at the École d'Architecture Paris La Villette UP6. During his studies in Vienna he worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Interior Design and afterwards in numerous architectural offices in Vienna, Paris and Amsterdam. From 2006-2008 he was project manager at Pichler and Traupmann, before founding the architecture firm PLOV Architekten ZT GmbH in Vienna with partner Marion Gruber in 2009. He is a member of the „Kammer der Architekt:innen und Ingenieurkonsulent: innen für Wien, Niederösterreich und Burgenland“ and has been teaching at the FH Kärnten in the degree program "Sustainable Construction Management" since 2017. Marion Gruber was born in Linz [A] in 1977 and studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology, where she also worked as a student assistant at the Institute for Building Theory. For her diploma she received the Art Hall Award at Archdiploma in 2007. During and after her studies, she worked in various architectural offices, including Mecanoo Architects [NL]. In 2009, together with partner Christoph Leitner, she founded the architecture firm PLOV Architekten ZT GmbH in Vienna. From 2012-2016 she was spokesperson for IG-Architektur Wien, where she co-initiated, among other things, the mentoring program for young female architects on their way to self-employment. Since 2018, she has been involved in the competition committee of the Ziviltechniker:innenkammer and has acted as vice-chair of the competition committee since 2023. Since 2023, she is teaching „Sustainable Real Estate Management" at the FH Kärnten.
