Carolyn Sarah Herzog is an Austrian architect and the founder of Hkollektive, a studio for architecture and design based in Austria. Before studying architecture, she completed a vocational secondary school specializing in structural engineering and building construction, gaining a strong technical foundation and practical understanding of the built environment.

She subsequently studied architecture at RWTH Aachen University, one of Europe’s leading technical universities. Following her graduation, she spent five years working in an architectural practice in Tyrol, where she was involved in projects across different scales and phases of design and construction. This experience strengthened her understanding of architecture as a collaborative process that requires both conceptual clarity and attention to detail.

Her work is characterized by a sensitive approach to materiality, atmosphere, and context.
