Georg Bechter Architektur + Design is a small studio based in the Bregenzerwald, creating architecture that balances experimentation, craftsmanship, and context. We work across scales—from detailed interior interventions to complex building transformations—exploring new forms, structures, and alternative materials. Georg Bechter combines craftsmanship with architectural innovation. Since 2007, he has worked as an independent architect, gaining recognition for experimental and sustainable projects. His architecture is characterized by a sensitive response to context, materials, and space. He questions conventional building methods, develops innovative solutions, and connects traditional craftsmanship with contemporary architecture.

Alongside his architectural practice, Georg Bechter is deeply engaged with the relationship between space and light. Through his lighting manufactory, Georg Bechter Licht, he develops and produces handcrafted luminaires that explore how light shapes atmosphere, perception, and spatial experience. From his studio in the Bregenzerwald, he creates projects that unite functionality, sustainability, and atmosphere, aiming to create enduring places with a strong sense of identity.
