Christ.Christ. associated architects
Christ.Christ. associated architects is an internationally recognized architectural practice with offices in Wiesbaden and Mainz, Germany. The foundation of the practice’s work is the conviction that the quality of the built environment has a profound impact on people’s quality of life. Architecture is therefore understood not only as a technical discipline, but also as a cultural, social, and ecological responsibility. The office’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of project types and scales, including interior and retail design, private residences and housing, office, industrial, and educational buildings, as well as projects at the intersection of architecture and urban planning.
Alongside new construction, the transformation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings play a central role in the practice’s work. Christ.Christ. associated architects regards the preservation and continued development of existing structures as a key contribution to a sustainable building culture. Rather than demolition and replacement, the practice prioritizes the reuse of embodied energy and resources already contained within buildings, supported by a culture of preservation, repair, and reuse.
A particular focus is placed on longevity. The practice considers durability a fundamental prerequisite of sustainable architecture. Sustainability extends beyond technical performance and energy efficiency: a building can only endure if it earns the appreciation of its users, inhabitants, visitors, and the wider public. As part of an interdisciplinary network integrating all relevant engineering and specialist disciplines, Christ.Christ. associated architects provides expertise from concept development through realization. Working closely with clients, users, consultants, and stakeholders, the practice develops tailored solutions that respond precisely to the specific requirements of each project.
