A two-room apartment in a new villa building is furnished in a ‘French Chic’ style – homely, calm, with a hotel-like touch. The atmosphere is created by colors, wallpapers, patterns, and textures; the aim is a unique, playful interior, where function and aesthetics intertwine.

On entering, the hallway feels theaatrical: a narrow space is replaced by a velvet curtain, behind which are shoe shelves and installations. The curtain continues into an upholstered wall panel for hanging clothes; a semicircular niche and an antique mirror form the wardrobe area. We proceed past a rustic-framed mirror and a colorful wallpaper into the main living area. The kitchen is linear, with a semicircular element for soft transitions. The open living space combines several corners for different needs; the furniture is a mix of bespoke pieces and designer items. Standout elements include the comfortably oversized dining chairs, a hanging light above the table, the Rex lounge chair, and a round bar table by the window that forms a breakfast nook with a café-like feel.

Thoughtful lighting creates an intimate evening atmosphere. Details, such as a large potted plant by the balcony and fringes on table linens, cabinets, rugs, and stools, add dynamism to the space. The bedroom and sanitary areas follow the thematic color scheme; despite the small footprint, there is ample storage. In the bedroom, a calming earth-toned wallpaper sits behind the bed, while the ceiling and the wall surrounding the wallpaper are painted a deeper brown-gray, creating a cocoon-like feeling. The apartment demonstrates that a rich, curated interior can offer more warmth and homeliness than strict minimalism.
