Jan Mackovič: Revitalization of the historical center of Tetín

Mackovič architecture, Czech republic

During his studies at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague he completed internships at universities in the USA and Greece. Further he worked at the Faculty of Architecture in Prague as an assistant professor. He has worked in several studios and since 2010 he has been running his own studio – mackovič architecture.

As a studio we are dealing with the design of urban spaces, residential buildings, family houses and villas, commercial interiors (hotels) as well as non-traditional installations. We always emphasize a perfect and functioning space, especially the quality of daylight and artificial lighting. We aim for original and timeless solutions.

Recently, we have successfully designed hotel interiors for several world-renowned hotel brands. For example, the renovation of the lobby of the Holiday Inn hotel in Prague. Furthermore, we are also supervising the complete reconstruction of the Thermal Hotel in Karlovy Vary, including the hotel facades, conference areas and hotel rooms.

Last but not least, we specialize in public spaces, from which we would like to highlight the revitalization of the historic centre of Tetín, which has received very positive feedback from the public and professionals in the Czech Republic.
