A residential building complex with three apartments extends within a foothill plot. The project reads the porch, a large, southward covered space of mediation between garden and housing units, as an architectural-urban diaphragm and a heritage settlement principle to be reinterpreted, configuring the building, beyond the porch, by juxtaposed blocks side by side, connected by a junction element: the staircase.
The blocks delineate the new, transformed unit of the first floor. The roofing between the two emerging blocks of the sleeping area (taller, vertical body, with north-south oriented pitches: emerging tower of the complex) and the living area (horizontal body, with east-west oriented pitches: suspended platform in the garden) extends in depth, delineating the extrusion of the portico in height as the staircase. The eastward terrace configures a panoramic bridge to the trees, in compositional dialogue with the westward tower.
