SEE the Future;
The Future of the Cities
Southeast Europe, a region of 21 diverse countries, stands as one of the world’s most creative and dynamic landscapes. Through architecture, we capture the essence of our cities today but also shape the narratives of their future.
“The City of the Future” is an exhibition that invites architects and students to present their visions for the evolution of Southeast Europe’s urban environments. Through innovative visual storytelling, they will explore both the challenges and opportunities that will shape tomorrow’s cities.
What defines the city of the future? Will it be driven by sustainability, adaptive reuse, and smart technologies, or will it center around human experience, culture, and identity? How will artificial intelligence shape urban life? Will it optimize planning, mobility, and energy use, or enhance creativity and strengthen the connection between people and their environment? This exhibition challenges architects to think about cities that are durable, well-connected, and strongly linked to their unique histories.
Imagining the future goes beyond exploring possibilities; it involves actively influencing their creation and shaping the world to come. The City of the Future exhibition will be a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. Through shared perspectives, BIG Architecture 2025 will bring together architects and architecture students from across Southeast Europe, fostering new ideas and redefining the future of urban life in the region.
Architects and students are invited to participate and showcase their vision, contributing to a collective effort in reimagining the cities of tomorrow.
