Innovative Office with Conference Facilities atop a Former Air-Raid Shelter, PV Façade and Wind Turbine The ecoplus Business Park in Wiener Neudorf covers almost 3 km² – comparable in size to a small town. Nearly 400 companies with around 12.000 employees are located here. At its center, on a former air-raid shelter, stands the office of the Lower Austrian location agency, ecoplus.

The sculptural office extension, including conference facilities, is an expression of innovation, sustainability, and symbolic power. To achieve this, the existing office spaces were completely refurbished and expanded at a height of 12 meters. Thanks to advanced façade technology, all rooms are flooded with daylight, while being protected from excessive solar gain during strong winds. The inviting conference area is located on the floors below. The impressive, column-free structure allows for exceptionally flexible use.

The space within the bunker was also integrated: the two-meter-thick concrete walls were opened up, enabling optimal use of the space. The bunker additionally serves as a structural support for the new building. The parking area was built over in a space-efficient manner, creating additional green spaces. The greening of the bunker has a positive effect on the microclimate and helps reduce urban heat islands. On the roof, PV modules and colored façade elements provide on-site energy generation, while a small wind turbine supplies additional power.
