Diego Tobalina is Head of the Innovation and Design Unit at the Norman Foster Foundation (NFF), where he has been part of the team since its inception in 2016. Based in Madrid, Spain, the Foundation promotes interdisciplinary thinking and research inspired by the work and legacy of Norman Foster, contributing to a more sustainable and responsible future for cities and the built environment.

At the NFF, Diego leads initiatives that connect architecture, design, technology and the arts through a collaborative and experimental approach. His work focuses on fostering innovation and developing research-driven design strategies that address contemporary urban challenges while anticipating future trends. Throughout his career, he has developed international projects at multiple scales, ranging from furniture and industrial design to cultural projects, mobility initiatives and heritage-related interventions.

Through his work on exhibitions, publications, educational programmes and graphic design collaborations, he contributes to advancing the Foundation’s mission of supporting new generations of architects, designers and urban thinkers.
