DAS BETON_ Loft Office Building DAS BETON is a new construction project by the Frankfurt real estate investor Ardi Goldman, located in the rear courtyard of his existing property in the harbor area of Frankfurt’s east side. 2.500 m² of loft and office space are spread across 6 upper floors. The elevated building, with an open ground floor as a parking level and an underground garage, was constructed in a monolithic exposed concrete design (lightweight concrete). To achieve a natural patina during the building’s aging process, all materials were left in their pure state, wherever possible – without cladding, plastering, or painting.
No bonded construction materials were added; the building was consistently executed in a monolithic manner. The timber roof structure remains visible inside and was not clad. This type of construction is material-saving, sustainable, and energy-efficient. After the end of its life cycle, the materials can be returned to the material cycle. The lightweight concrete is 100% recyclable. The top floor, with a green gabled roof, was primarily built as a timber structure.
