Yalin Tan + Partners were commissioned by Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik to design an R+D office space that focusses on the hybrid working pattern of their staff. The İş Bankası Kuleleri Business Park overlooks the modern panorama of the Levent business district. A tree-lined residential region to the east slopes to the Bosporus, providing magnificent views of the distant rolling hills. Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik are Turkey’s first life insurance company; they aim to secure the futures of their clients with a range of professional products. Their 16th floor 850-sq-m office was designed in accordance with their employees’ needs and the shifting nature of office work. This is a dedicated R+D office space, centred on earthy tones juxtaposed against black partition walls. The most important aspect of the design is its employee-centric approach to a hybrid working environment; throughout the office there are multiple locations where staff can work, according to their needs. Private booths adorned with privacy curtains and translucent screening give employees a space in which to concentrate alone. There are booths with individual desks and booths with bench seating that provide an opportunity for dedicated work between colleagues.
