Coming back to our roots. Finding stillness. Finding home. That is what I look for in design nowadays. After decades of chasing new technological developments, new fabricated materials, new looks, and new expressions, the time has come to take a closer look at meaning—a deep meaning behind our actions. The real impact, beneath the surface of satisfying our perceived needs for short-term feel-good moments. It is time to look beneath our learned behavioral patterns and see what, and who, we really are. Which systems and thought paradigms truly support our well-being? And soon enough, we might find simple answers, too often overlooked: joyful friendships, fresh air, clean water, love… Cutting through the noise and the (self-)imposed complexity of everyday life, design can bring out what really matters. It ought to reveal what it truly means to be in love with life. And above all, it should support life in all its fullness.
