ZDL is an architectural studio founded in 2011 by architect Siniša Zdjelar. Based in Rijeka, Croatia, with an additional office in Belgrade, Serbia, the practice operates across the region and delivers projects of various scales and typologies. Over the years, ZDL has developed expertise in residential, hospitality, public, healthcare, sports, cultural, and commercial architecture. The studio has participated in more than 300 projects and contributed to the development of over 300,000 square meters of built space.

The studio's design approach is based on understanding context, creating long-term value, and developing architecture that responds to contemporary needs while respecting local identities. Each project is approached through research, collaboration, and a careful balance between functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
ZDL provides a comprehensive range of services, including architectural and urban studies, concept design, project development, detailed design documentation and interior architecture. Advanced BIM methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration are integrated throughout the design process to ensure high-quality and efficient project delivery.

Driven by a multidisciplinary team of architects and designers, the studio continuously explores innovative solutions and new opportunities for architectural expression. Through its work, ZDL aims to create meaningful spaces that improve the quality of life for users while contributing positively to the built environment.

Siniša Zdjelar

Siniša Zdjelar graduated with honours from the Faculty of Architecture in Trieste, Italy, and founded ZDL in 2011. Since 2007, he has been practising as an independent architect, leading projects across residential, hospitality, public and commercial sectors. His work has been recognised through numerous awards and successful competition entries. In addition to his architectural licence, he is authorised to work on cultural heritage projects.Antonija Plavotić

Antonija Plavotić graduated with honours from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. She joined ZDL at the beginning of her professional career and played an important role in the studio’s development and growth. As partner, she leads complex projects and contributes to the strategic and creative direction of the practice. Her work has also been recognised through professional awards and achievements.
