In the midst of Prague’s latest urban growth, we shaped a calm, rhythmic interior for a manicure and pedicure salon – a common typology, yet rarely treated with architectural attention. It became a welcome challenge to design a choreography lifting the visitor out of the ordinary through a sequence of acts: the reception desk, the long manicure table, the elevated pedicure thrones, the curved volume of a private room, and behind it, the restroom and backstage. It is a theater on the edge of shadowplay, animated by backlit fiberglass partitions and task lights.

Light becomes both material and medium, curving the space and dissolving its dimensions. Physical materials and colors are subdued into warm simplicity, with tactile elements reserved for objects serving the visitor, reflecting the client’s emphasis on care – for the space, for the visitor’s comfort, and for the broader understanding of service as wellness.
