Piero Lissoni

Piero Lissoni was born in 1956 and began his design career in 1978. He graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan. In 1985, he began collaborating with Boffi. Together with Nicoletta Canesi, he founded Lissoni Associati in 1986 and Graph.x in 1996, where he developed projects in architecture, interior design, industrial and graphic design, corporate identity, and worked as an art director.

His most renowned clients include Alessi, Boffi, Cappellini, Cassina, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Glas, Kartell, Knoll International, Lema, Living Divani, Poltrona Frau, Porro, Tecno, Thonet, and Wella. He works in both industrial and graphic design. Among other things, he has designed the interiors of exhibition spaces, hotels, private houses and yachts, as well as exhibition stands.

He completed the interior of the Shangri-La Hotel & Resort in Miami and private villas near Lake Como. In Venice, he finished the renovation and modernization of the public areas of the luxury hotel Monaco & Grand Canal. In Istanbul, he designed the design hotel™ Bentley; in Switzerland, the Al Porto Hotel on Lake Zurich; and in Tokyo, the Mitsui Garden Ginza business hotel. He has also designed major showrooms for Boffi around the world, Cassina showrooms in Paris and Cassina IXC in Japan, as well as the ViaDurini15 showroom for Porro in Milan. He created the corporate identity for fashion designer Elie Tahari, who is expanding his fashion brand, and in collaboration with Studio Brenta, he designed a private sailing yacht for a New York art dealer.

Piero Lissoni is involved in the following projects: in Italy, he is designing new headquarters or factory layouts for Boffi, Glas, Living Divani, La Rinascente, and Tecno, and furnishing the interior of a 50-meter private yacht; in Jerusalem, he is designing a new hotel; in Hamburg, a new Tamtai restaurant chain; and on the Turks and Caicos Islands, a luxury resort. At the 2006 Milan Furniture Fair, he presented his latest pieces and furniture collections designed for various clients. In November 2005, Piero Lissoni received one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design – at a ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, he was inducted into the “Hall of Fame of Interior Design” as one of the most important interior designers. Later, he also received the Elle Decor International “Best Kitchen 2005” award – the winning kitchen was Boffi’s “Table System.”
