Jonas Lencer
dRMM, United Kingdom
Since 2004, Jonas Lencer has been one of the directors of the architectural studio dRMM, one of the world’s leading studios actively engaged in innovation in multi-story timber architecture. His work is closely linked to paving the way for construction with cross-laminated timber panels; he regularly lectures on this topic at conferences around the world. He is also a regular member of competition juries for the British organization RIBA.
The dRMM office is a group of 35 creative architects from 17 countries around the world who have realized several innovative wooden buildings; the largest of these projects are Rundeskogen in Norway, where they built three wooden residential towers (the tallest of which has 13 floors), and the Trafalgar Place project, where a 4-story residential block was built. The latter has already received two awards this year at the London Planning Awards.
