XLam City Top (Poljanska–Roška extension) shows how an existing building can be upgraded with timber instead of demolition. Rather than generating large amounts of waste and CO₂ from new concrete construction, the project combines seismic retrofitting with a CLT extension that stores more CO₂ than is emitted. The result is a modern, energy-efficient, earthquake-resistant building with a negative carbon balance, preserving urban continuity.
