Situated on the northern coast of Crete, in Panormos, on a plot overlooking the beach, Ormus Villa is conceived as a seasonal dwelling that negotiates between a contemporary architectural vocabulary and measured references to the local Cretan vernacular.
The main living spaces are articulated through expansive openings, establishing a direct relationship with the outdoor terrace and pool area, defined by sleek, concrete planes. Outdoor dining and kitchen areas are enclosed within a stone volume, conceived as a semi-enclosed, open-air room that mediates between exposure and shelter. A secluded courtyard, positioned between the bedroom wings, introduces an alternative spatial typology – introverted and protected – offering a quieter, more contemplative environment, distinct from the extroverted living areas.
The architecture balances solid stone masses with slender lines and refined framing systems, while an earthy color palette echoes the tones and textures of the surrounding landscape.
