The Mynt Merano Rooms project revitalizes a vacant historic arcade building in the center of Merano, Italy. The upper floors had been uninhabited for decades, suffering from deteriorating wooden ceilings and poor natural lighting. Due to the narrow site and compact apartment layouts, the building was fundamentally reconfigured and repurposed for short-term accommodations.

The existing ceilings were replaced with exposed concrete slabs, integrating building services. A newly created green inner courtyard forms the heart of the project, providing daylight, spatial openness, and views toward the surrounding mountains. A mint-colored core serves as a defining design element in each apartment, integrating sanitary, kitchen, and storage functions, or acting as a spatial divider. The interiors follow a clear, minimalist design language and feature high-quality materials such as white terrazzo, herringbone parquet, Lasa marble, and light oak furnishings, while original green wall tones uncovered during renovation were reinterpreted in the interior concept.
