The site is defined by two striking natural features: a nearby lake and a mature, central oak tree that anchor the visual experience. The ground floor features a dynamic, irregular – almost tentacular – plan, with extensions radiating toward the four cardinal directions to frame lake views from all main spaces. In contrast, the upper volume is kept deliberately simple, balancing the multifaceted base below.
The ground level draws on a rich, cohesive material and color palette – brick, wood, ceramic, in tones of black, anthracite, brick-red, ochre, and white – enlivened by playful setbacks, light play, and textural shifts for layered yet unified expressiveness. Oak wood panels clad the façade, echoing the site’s iconic tree, while salvaged brick from a former outbuilding adds historical depth. Designed to deepen the bond with nature, the house creates fluid indoor–outdoor continuity. The ground floor opens expansively toward garden, lake, and oak, fostering a profoundly site-responsive way of living.
