Nominator's statement
Emilija Raonić is a fifth-year student at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Montenegro. Her exceptional results achieved during her studies are based on a tendency towards research and an analytical approach, whereby she continuously and carefully examines the context, meaning and potential of space. Her projects are characterized by sensitivity to scale, materiality, to the user and his experience of the space, which is demonstrated by the project House for the Blind.
In addition to her work at the faculty, Raonić develops her own practice in the field of art based on geometry and architectural logic: Lumo Studio, which indicates her initiative and interdisciplinary interests. A wide range of interests is reflected in her various engagements in the field of architecture and design. In teamwork with colleague Nikolija Pešić, and within the framework of the Architectural workshop, the ŠAV brand was created. Through this author's project, they are critical of the phenomenon of fast fashion, problematizing its impact on the environment. Using textile waste as a basic resource, relying on the principles of the circular economy, they are developing a new product with a unique design. Thus, they translate the theoretical concepts of sustainability into a functional and conceptually clear product.
HOUSE FOR THE BLIND

The House for the Blind is conceived as a tactile architectural environment where spatial orientation is guided primarily through touch and bodily perception. The dynamic geometry of the floor plan and the volumetric articulation of the building subtly direct the user along natural lines of movement, supporting intuitive navigation throughout the space. Rather than relying on visual cues, the architecture is experienced through physical interaction with surfaces, edges, and the gradual shifts in spatial configuration.
The carefully composed disposition of walls creates a continuous spatial flow that leads the user through the house, establishing a clear and legible path of movement. Through this dynamic organization, the architecture becomes an active guide, shaping orientation and facilitating everyday activities. The project explores how form, texture, and spatial rhythm can transform architecture into a tactile and intuitive environment.

DENIM PRODUCT

The project began with research into textile waste as a potential resource for creating new materials. Focusing on discarded denim, the process involved a series of material experiments in which the fabric was combined with different substances in order to transform it into a new composite form. Through iterative testing, a specific material recipe was developed to achieve the structural and tactile properties required for the designed product.
The final outcome is a carpet produced from recycled denim in various shades and degrees of wear. This diversity of textures and tones gives each piece a unique visual identity, making every carpet singular and non-repeatable. The project also included the development of an accompanying brand concept and packaging, presenting the product as a complete and thoughtfully designed object.
LUMO STUDIO

Lumo Studio is a small creative studio focused on minimalist and abstract art, founded as a personal platform for exploring visual expression beyond architectural practice. The work is based on the exploration of texture, materiality, and subtle variations of light and tone, often expressed through large-scale paintings and carefully balanced compositions.
The studio’s approach is rooted in simplicity and reduction, allowing form, surface, and atmosphere to become the primary elements of expression. Each piece is conceived as a unique composition that emphasizes spatial depth, tactile quality, and visual calm. Through Lumo Studio, artistic experimentation becomes a parallel practice to architecture, extending an interest in atmosphere, perception, and the emotional impact of space into the field of visual art.

Emilija Raonić
I am an architecture student based in Podgorica, Montenegro, currently completing the final year of my studies at the Faculty of Architecture. My academic interests are strongly oriented toward architectural theory, which has significantly shaped my approach to understanding space and design.
I am currently working on my master thesis, which explores the relationship between atmosphere, volume, and light in architectural space.
Alongside my studies, I founded Lumo Studio, a small creative studio dedicated to minimalist and abstract art. Through this practice, I explore texture, light, and composition, interests that also influence my architectural thinking and my understanding of spatial atmosphere.
