ADAPTIVE REUSE OF THE FIRST ALBANIAN SCHOOL IN PRISTINA INTO A MUSEUM AND GALLERY

This Bachelor thesis explores the adaptive reuse of abandoned heritage buildings, focusing on the First Albanian School in Pristina as a case study. The project investigates sustainable restoration strategies that balance conservation with contemporary intervention.
Located within the historic urban fabric of Pristina, the building is reimagined as a museum and gallery, preserving its historical identity while introducing new underground exhibition spaces to avoid altering the original structure. The proposal emphasizes minimal intervention, spatial clarity, and integration of modern architectural elements that respect the existing fabric.
The project demonstrates how adaptive reuse can transform neglected heritage into a vibrant cultural space, ensuring continuity between past, present, and future.

"THE SILENCE THAT SPEAKS"- Arsenal Memorial Park

The Silence That Speaks is an academic architectural and urban design proposal developed by students of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Pristina, inspired by the Inspireli Awards competition. Located on the former Arsenal site in San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina—once a clandestine detention center during the Dirty War (1976–1978)—the project transforms a site of trauma into a living memorial landscape. Operating across urban, landscape, and architectural scales, the design reconnects the isolated site with the city while dedicating 70% of the area to an open memorial park. A fractured architectural mass generates pathways and pavilions, creating a Narrative Walk where memory unfolds through movement. Silence becomes the primary medium of expression, shaping an experiential space of reflection, awareness, and collective healing.

IL PANTHEON - Restaurant in Zurich

Located in the heart of Zurich, IL PANTHEON reinterprets the grandeur of classical Italian architecture within a contemporary European context. Inspired by the spirit of the Pantheon, the project does not imitate history but translates it into a refined interior language defined by marble, natural stone, dark wood, and subtle lighting.
Classical elements are reimagined through modern lines, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere where heritage meets sophistication. The space is conceived as an aesthetic journey, blending memory and present experience into a cohesive spatial narrative.
More than a restaurant, IL PANTHEON is a cultural expression—an immersive environment shaped by passion, precision, and the collaborative contribution of the ARCHIEDU team.
