Life in large urban areas has become unbearable. Although we were born in the center of a large city, fifteen to twenty years ago we decided to gradually move our lives from the capital to areas of lower urban density, closer to nature. New technologies and ways of working make this possible. Our children have overtaken us in this; after graduating from university, they have found their happiness in small towns by the sea, less than an hour’s drive from the first major urban center. In addition to being quite successful in the architecture they studied, they have their own vegetable and fruit production, engage in underwater fishing and provide accommodation for tourists in small prefabricated houses that they designed and built themselves. We are a little slower in this, renovating inherited houses in our hometowns in order to breathe new life into them and provide ourselves with more beautiful and peaceful living conditions in what we hope will be an active retirement.
