STEAM Budapest Restaurant

STEAM restaurant is located in downtown Budapest, in DVM designed Szervita Square Building, a multi-award winning, V4 BD+C (Building Design and Construction) LEED Platinum accredited mixed-use project, which is unique as it is the first and only building in Central and Eastern Europe to have this certification. The interior of the restaurant evokes the ambience of the long-gone historical cafés of the district. It combines the Art Nouveau features of the surrounding buildings: a fusion of art nouveau (terracotta masses, patterned cushions, curved Thonet silhouettes on terrace chairs) and art deco (marble table inserts, walnut, copper accessories) meeting the industrial influence of the ceiling and minimalist wood elements. The characteristic copper, terracotta and walnut tones have been selected to create a sense of warm homeliness. The darkened brown glass block of the counter and display kitchen, with the gallery level at the top, subtly appears as one mass in the space.
