This project transforms a long-vacant urban site into a financially viable, high-density housing development, shaped by efficiency, sustainability, and spatial quality. A New Urbanist approach establishes a strong urban edge that activates the street, while forming a courtyard typology that fosters community and belonging.
The building responds directly to the site’s irregular geometry, creating generous shared spaces as it bends along its boundaries. Each 54 sqm unit accommodates four bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge, and bathroom within a compact, carefully resolved footprint. Standardized face brick ensures durability and economy, animated by plaster window bands and a bold yellow identity. Light wells and gas water heating reduce energy demand, reinforcing a sustainable, socially responsive architecture within tight constraints.
