The project of Hotel Tenz in Montan, South Tyrol, updates a long-standing family-run hotel overlooking the Adige valley. Built in successive stages over time, the building evolved into an incongruous patchwork of additions. The work includes rebuilding the north guestroom unit, remodeling several existing rooms, and reshaping the lobby, bar, reception, and wellness areas.
A new entrance with a large glass front creates a brighter and more expansive arrival space, with views toward the vineyards and the valley. The spa is enlarged with new saunas and quiet rest spaces, while many rooms are upgraded to reach a four-star level. Wood, natural stone, and glass shape the design, giving the hotel a warm and contemporary character.
