TEMETERON

Temeteron is an olive oil bottle whose name, meaning “ours” in the Pontic dialect, reflects shared identity and heritage. The design is inspired by the shapes and folds of traditional Pontic costumes, translating these forms into a contemporary bottle. Treated as a narrative object rather than simple packaging, it uses proportion, material presence, and a curved cut-out surface to improve usability, making the bottle easy to hold and pour despite its larger size. Sustainability guided material choices and lifecycle considerations, reflecting an approach where design operates as both system and story.

LUAR

Luar is a fragrance bottle inspired by the moon’s first and third quarter phases, crafted entirely from glass. The form is based on the division of a sphere into two hemispheres, reflecting the visual similarity of these lunar phases while revealing their deeper contrasts. The design embodies the intersection of structure, narrative, and user experience, where design functions simultaneously as object and concept.

AYERAS

Ayeras is a summer skincare kit designed as compact, reusable, and refillable packaging, combining timeless elegance with functional precision. The kit consists of four individual product cases, linked together with magnets, allowing users to organize, rearrange, and refill them as needed. The design is inspired by ancient Greek column ruins, translating their proportion, structure, and architectural presence into a modern object. Its form emphasizes clarity and balance, creating a sense of order and calm that enhances the ritual of self-care.

By integrating modularity, reusability, and architectural inspiration from the beginning, Ayeras transforms everyday skincare into an intentional, refined experience where form, structure, and interaction coexist seamlessly.

Theodora Fourountsidou

I am Theodora Fourountsidou, an industrial designer based in Greece, with a bachelor’s degree in Product Design since 2024. My path into design was not linear. I initially studied geology, drawn to the logic of systems and the structure of the natural world. However, in the aftermath of the global pause brought by Covid-19, I reconsidered my direction. I realized I did not want only to study the world’s structures, I wanted to design my own.

This transition reshaped my understanding of design. I came to see it not merely as making objects, but as a medium for storytelling and meaning. A pivotal project in this realization was Temeteron, an olive oil bottle named after the Pontic word for “ours.” Through this project, I explored how an everyday object can embody collective identity and cultural memory. Since then, I have approached design as an architectural act layering narrative, structure, and material into coherent systems.

My design process is research-driven and hands-on, constantly testing and refining ideas. I begin by defining the core principles of a project and let them guide every decision. I explore form through sketching, digital modelling, and physical prototypes, and I evaluate how materials, structure, and interaction affect both user experience and visual expression.

My practice is grounded in conceptual thinking and driven by storytelling. I am particularly interested in material experimentation and sustainable approaches that consider the full lifecycle of an object. For me, sustainability is not a feature but a responsibility embedded from the first sketch.

Looking forward, I aim to further develop a design language that is structurally clear and narratively strong, creating objects that do not simply exist in space but define it. My goal is to continue exploring the intersection of story, material, and responsibility, shaping work that feels both contemporary and timeless.
