
Rüksan Tuna
Instructor, Dr., Fenerbahçe University, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Turkey
She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1983 (m.a.) After working in the offices in Istanbul, she gained 5 years of experience abroad. She travelled and conducted research in various European cities, primarily Germany (1984-1989). Upon her return to Turkey, she worked with Bülend Tuna mainly residential and commercial spaces.
She later worked as a project manager for 12 years at Koleksiyon Mobilya A.Ş. Following the project and construction of the Koleksiyon Mobilya Sarıyer campus, she completed numerous domestic and international office, hospital, and hotel projects. She also prepared the Koleksiyon Dealers concept handbook and dealer settlement projects and implementations. (Dealers in Adana, Ankara,
Bursa, Eskişehir, Etiler, Göztepe, İzmir, Kayseri Kozyatağı, Mersin, Milan and Moscow) (1992-2004).

She served as a board member representing the Chamber of Architects at the Turkish Green Buildings Association (ÇEDBİK) (2008-2010). During this time, she worked on green building certification systems. She was part of the translation group for the BREEAM-Europe-Commercial Buildings 2009 Assessment Guidelines into Turkish. In 2011, she became a BREEAM Assessor (Building Research Establishment
Environmental Assessment Method). She participated in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system training and actively served in the local certification working group.
Since September 2012, she has been working as an instructor for the “EnergynIdentity Certificate Expertise” course, conducted by the Continuous Professional Development Center of the CAT (TMMOB), within the scope of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and Climate Change Regulation on Energy Performance in Buildings.

She completed her doctoral studies, (2017-2021) at MSFAU, Department of Architecture, Architectural Design Problems. In her doctoral thesis titled “Untold Sustainability,” she investigated the daylight and ventilation characteristics in Turkish public buildings between 1900 and 1950.
