The renovation and re-launch of Baita Piè Tofana involved both aspects of brand identity and interior design. From one hand, the intention was to enhance aspects of historicity and the characteristics of recognizability of the chalet. From another to highlight the concepts of sophistication and authenticity foundation of the new management of Michel Oberhammer. Hence the decision to designate the historic sign attached to the façade of the chalet as a starting point for the brand identity project and use the payoff “authentic food and fine bottles” to describe the essence of the new commercial offer. The project conceived for Baita Piè Tofana aims to give a decisive twist to the image of this restaurant surrounded by nature at the foot of the Dolomites. All details were curated, from the interiors to the conception of the menus and the fine wine list. Recognized by locals and foreign people as a unique location in terms of setting, atmosphere and culinary proposal, the new management aims to make it become a real point of reference in the panorama of Cortina’s high hospitality. The project involved a total renovation of the dining rooms that led, thanks to the savvy hands of local artisans, to the consolidation of the original structure.
The interior walls and ceiling have been completely replaced by a new paneling in sandblasted and stained larch boards. The elegant combinations of fabrics chosen for the benches in dove-gray and petrol-green tones, the light linen curtains and the amber-colored copper lamps create a welcoming and elegant atmosphere, adding a touch of glamor to this traditional location. The traditional fireplace in the “Larin” room has been replaced by a new one that allows customers to eat around the firepit. The nearby room, with custom-made raw wood tables, is characterized by a large back-lit wooden and copper wine rack to underline the Baita’s oenological vocation. The result is a classy, elegant and welcoming venue, which despite being entirely different from the previous one maintains the magical and warm atmosphere that has always distinguished this location. A place to get together, feel good and enjoy a 360-degree experience immersed in the splendid scenery of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
